Role

We have an excellent opportunity available for a highly competent, detail-oriented lawyer to make a difference at Kraft Heinz. The Legal Director will be based in Santiago, Chile, and will be part of the WEEM Legal Team and Hispanics Leadership Team.

The Legal Counsel will work closely with the Legal Team and the business to support from a commercial, and operations perspective on the day-to-day matters and strategic projects covering a wide range of matters relating to:

  • Legal Team leadership, management and development of promoting practical solutions, efficiency, collaboration with cross function areas upholding ethical standards.

  • Legal advice on a broad range of legal issues including, such as business risks and mitigation actions, contracts, commercial, mercantile, corporate, litigation, labour & employment, advertising laws, regulatory landscape, competition and anti-trust laws, intellectual property, food law and others on legal landscape.

  • Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities.

  • Support governance initiatives, entity management and board-related matters within the Hispanics region.

  • Keep abreast of legislative changes and work on advocacy and engagement with external stakeholders.

  • Interface with Government Authorities and external services

REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified lawyer admitted to practice law in Chile.

  • Minimum 15-18 years post-qualification and in-house lawyer leadership and part of the experience in law firm.

  • Desirable experience with food-related regulations.

  • Experience in Corporate Affairs, including the representation and engagement with Trade Associations, Government Authorities and Regulatory entities.

  • Experience in local manufacturing operations, litigation management and compliance

  • Must be fluent in English.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and influence within key stakeholders

  • Capable of handling a broad range of legal matters to support the business

  • Strong business/commercial acumen

  • Proactive and hands on mindset.
