Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and has become a leader in autonomous ground transportation committed to a safer and more efficient future for all. The company has developed an artificial intelligence (AI) powered technology stack purpose-built for commercial trucking and the public sector. The company delivers freight daily for its customers across the southern United States using its autonomous technology. In 2024, Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer. Kodiak is also leveraging its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.

As an Operations Supervisor, you’ll lead on-the-ground operations that ensure Kodiak’s autonomous fleet runs safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will oversee day-to-day execution of missions, manage on-site staff and assets, and serve as the critical link between Operations, Engineering, and our customers. This role is hands-on and highly dynamic requiring leadership, technical awareness, and a relentless focus on uptime, safety, and customer satisfaction.

If you thrive in complex, fast-moving environments, love solving high-impact problems, and want to be at the frontlines of an industry-defining transformation, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee daily operations to ensure uptime meets or exceeds KPI targets.

  • Lead shift execution: assign tasks, monitor coverage, and dynamically adjust resources as conditions evolve.

  • Manage scheduling, shift assignments, and coverage planning to maintain continuous rescue readiness.

  • Enforce SOPs, checklists, and safety standards to maintain a consistent, compliant operation.

  • Manage incident response, ensuring rapid, safe, and effective resolution with proper documentation.

  • Participate in staffing management to include; interviewing, extending offers and exit discussions.

  • Support customer engagement and communication—aligning operational plans with customer expectations.

  • Track key shift metrics and maintain detailed logs and end-of-shift reports.

  • Coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable for performance and adherence to operational standards.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Ops Center, Field Techs, and Integration teams to remove blockers and optimize workflows.

What We’re Looking For

Experience:

  • 4+ years in commercial operations, industrial operations, transportation, or logistics leadership (autonomous or fleet experience preferred).

  • Proven ability to manage 24/7 shift-based teams and maintain operational readiness under changing conditions.

Background:

  • Strong understanding of fleet management, dispatch coordination, or field operations.

  • Experience enforcing SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance frameworks.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with transportation, autonomous vehicle operations, or logistics environments.

  • Understanding of FMCSA regulations, driver hours-of-service, and field safety standards.

Strong Communicator:

  • Able to clearly and succinctly communicate in high-pressure environments especially over radio and during incident response.

  • Capable of translating complex operational needs into actionable updates for both internal teams and customers.

Leadership Mindset:

  • Leads with calm, confident decision-making under pressure, setting clear expectations and coaching the team toward accountability and performance.

  • Proactively identifies inefficiencies and drives continuous improvement in safety, process, and operational excellence.
