Group/Division
The ICOS Vision Systems division focuses on the backend of the line semiconductor industry providing fully automated tools to inspect and sort, finished integrated circuit packages. For more than 15 years, ICOS has been a market leader with tray-to-tray and tray-to-tape inspection and sorting tools found in the production facilities of all major chipmakers in the world. Our market-leading technology and superior customer service requires strong talent in optics, machine control, algorithms and applications within our engineering teams. The ICOS division headquarters are in Leuven, Belgium with additional engineering and manufacturing operations in Singapore and Shenzhen (China).

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications Senior Algorithm Engineer
Join the team that builds the "Vision Engine" serving as the core processing unit for all our inspection tools. By using groundbreaking technology both in hardware and software we can deliver the best performing algorithm and applications to all our customers. Since a few years we are also building up expertise within machine learning to further improve our capabilities to solve customer problems.

Job Description: Be part of and become responsible to work out new differentiating vision solutions for our tools. Combining sophisticated software algorithms with in-house embedded and off the shelf hardware to make an outstanding product. The growing need for differentiating visual inspection solutions in the high-end markets we serve will allow you to further grow within this position, so you can strengthen your skills and work on the most inspiring programs.

Your work involves:

• Crafting and developing software for new inspection challenges based on requirements and available information from the customer.

• Supporting your colleagues in providing them tools to work efficiently and drive improvements of our in-house hybrid development environment.

• Collaborating with other software teams on how new inspection flows can easily be validated and used in our inspection machines.

• Support our field engineers and APPS division with the whole process flow of working with the vision system and all our applications.

• Occasional travel to support customers and to have firsthand insights.

• Minimum Qualifications Qualifications

• Background in Engineering or Computer Science with experience of 3-5 years. We need your passion for technology and desire to learn every single day!

• Actual experience in C/C++ programming, code profiling and refactoring is highly recommended.

• Experience working both in a Windows and Linux environment. Knowledge of container technology (Eg podman) is a plus.

• Familiar with scripting languages (Bash,Python) and understanding version control and Makefiles is preferable.

• Eager to stay ahead by following new trends in software/hardware development and experimenting with new frameworks and Computer Vision packages.

• Not afraid to stretch your boundaries for further growth and use your analytical skills to drive efficiency.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Proficient in English
