Product Owner, Private Markets Businesses (Vice President)
Job summary
As a Product Owner on the Asset Management Private Markets Product team, you will serve as the product lead for multiple Private Markets businesses. You will set the roadmap and strategic direction for applications used by each business, prioritize the backlog, and oversee delivery by a dedicated team of technologists. This role emphasizes hands-on analytical work, detailed requirements, and solution design to drive measurable outcomes for each business.
Job responsibilities
- Set overall roadmap and vision for each assigned Private Markets business, aligned to clear outcomes and KPIs.
- Own Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), epics, and user stories for high-priority initiatives, with precise acceptance criteria and measurable value.
- Lead discovery through user research and workflow analysis; partner with UX and engineering to refine features, define wireframes, and validate with users.
- Prioritize the backlog using objective value frameworks, ensuring transparency of trade-offs and dependencies.
- Establish agile-driven user acceptance testing and change management, and oversee day-to-day delivery including triage, issue resolution, and defect management.
- Ensure communication and alignment across stakeholders through concise status updates and demo sessions.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Product-oriented mindset with demonstrated ability to lead discovery, strategy, requirements, and value management.
- Ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous problem spaces and new initiatives.
- Proven track record delivering successful products or contributing to large-scale technology transformations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable with data, metrics, and process analysis.
- Strong communicator and collaborator who listens to users, reconciles priorities, and articulates solutions across business and technology teams.
- Familiarity with scaled agile methodologies and multi-team delivery environments.
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities

Familiarity with private markets concepts such as waterfall calculations, capital call/distribution processing, and private investment structures.

High aptitude with agile best practices and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA).

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; diverse academic backgrounds welcome.

Experience managing technology products or platforms; product management experience within Asset Management preferred.

Experience using data analytics and insights to diagnose issues and inform product decisions.

5+ years of experience in project or program management in complex business or technology environments; Experience at an Asset Manager with familiarity concerning portfolio management, research, or reporting functions is a plus
