As an Associate in the China Tech Hardware Research team, you will work with us to analyze industry trends, company fundamentals, and market dynamics. You will help deliver high-quality research and insights to our clients, collaborate on cross-sector projects, and play a key role in supporting the team’s franchise in the fast-evolving tech hardware space.
Job Responsibilities

Contribute to thematic and sector-specific reports on China’s tech hardware industry; collaborate on cross-sector projects with other teams.

Contribute to written product to convey the team’s views to the firm’s internal and external clients.

Handle day-to-day client requests and provide timely, insightful responses.

Communicate your team’s research ideas persuasively to internal and external stakeholders, tailoring communications to client needs.

Organize and participate in fact-finding trips, company visits, and channel-check meetings for clients and investor tours.

Suggest new approaches or ideas to enhance the team’s research franchise and business impact.

Understand and adhere to the firm’s risk management policies and applicable legal and regulatory rules.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

At least 3 years of experience with proven analytical skills, ideally in equity research, technology, or related fields.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in a technology, engineering, finance, or data science-related field.

Ability to independently arrange and conduct fact-finding trips and channel-check meetings.

Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with an entrepreneurial drive.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to write investment research reports in persuasive manner.

Ability to build and maintain robust financial models (base and sensitivity cases) with minimal guidance; mastery of key model drivers.

Passion to learn about the China Technology space.

Ability to synthesize diverse information and articulate a clear, compelling investment thesis.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Strong preference for candidates with data science, consulting, or technology backgrounds who can think outside the box and conduct non-consensus/thematic research.

Strong written and verbal Communication skills.

Demonstrates creativity in problem-solving and seeks innovative approaches.

Ability to thrive under competitive pressures and remain focused on client needs.

Comfortable interacting with business clients and company management.

Progress toward a CFA, or a CFA designation, is a plus.

Mandarin language skills are highly preferred due to the focus on China-based companies.
