As an Associate Banker on the Venture Capital Relationship Team, you will play a key role in supporting our efforts to build and manage relationships with leading venture capital firms.
Working closely with Managing Directors and Executive Directors, you’ll help prepare for portfolio reviews, drive process improvements, and support strategic internal projects and leadership initiatives. The Venture Capital Relationship Team (VCRT) is part of J.P. Morgan’s Commercial Bank within the Commercial & Specialized Industries group.
We are seeking candidates who possess a strong interest in venture capital, technology, and healthcare; demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and partnership; and exhibit exceptional work ethic and attention to detail.

- Develop an understanding of the full breadth of J.P. Morgan products and service offerings, including but not limited to credit, venture debt, private banking, fund banking, and investment banking.
- Lead the preparation and execution of client meetings, internal briefings, and high-profile events. Preparing materials, managing logistics, and ensuring impactful follow-up.
- Serve as a central point across different lines of business, acting as a first line of defense for inquiries and inbound requests from internal partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with junior investors, founders, and ecosystem partners, representing the team at internal and external events and expanding your professional network.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- 3+ years of above-average performance in a similar banking role, credit/lending, or venture capital/private equity-related experience.
- Outstanding professional reputation and integrity.
- Excellent problem-solving, oral, and written communication skills.
- Broad knowledge of products and services.
- Requirement to complete FINRA Licensing exams (SIE, Series 63 and Series 79).
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree and formal credit or investment banking training preferred.
- Knowledge and existing networks in the local innovation economy and venture capital sectors preferred.
