This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated professional to assume a leadership position within our dynamic Investment Banking team and drive meaningful impact across our business.

The Executive Director will sit within the Diversified Industries team, with a dedicated focus on the mid-market capital goods sector across the EMEA region. Our team is at the forefront of originating and executing public and private M&A and capital markets transactions for corporate and financial sponsor clients throughout the broad industrial sector.

As an Executive Director in the EMEA Diversified Industries coverage team, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping strategic client dialogue and overseeing the execution of complex M&A and capital markets transactions, with particular emphasis on opportunities within the mid-market capital goods space. You will be responsible for managing and developing junior bankers, leading deal teams, and supporting senior management in business development and client coverage. Collaboration with colleagues across geographies and product teams (M&A, ECM, DCM, etc.) will be essential to ensure seamless delivery of our services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead development of strategic content: Oversee the preparation of materials for high-level client meetings focused on M&A and capital market transactions, ensuring alignment with client objectives and firm strategy.
  • Drive client and senior team engagement: Act as a primary point of contact, interacting daily with senior team members and client management to lead transaction execution and advise on strategic alternatives.
  • Originate and network with clients in the capital goods sector: Proactively build, strengthen, and expand relationships with key clients in the mid-market capital goods space across EMEA, identifying new business opportunities and driving deal origination.
  • Oversee valuation analysis: Direct, review, and provide expert guidance on complex valuation analyses, including DCF, trading comparables, transaction comparables, and LBO analyses.
  • Lead financial analysis for M&A: Supervise and critically evaluate combination and other financial analyses in the context of M&A transactions or strategic pitches.
  • Mentor and develop junior talent: Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to analysts and associates, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance across deal teams.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Extensive, proven investment banking leadership experience: Demonstrated track record in leading complex investment banking transactions, ideally with significant exposure to the capital goods sector.
  • Exceptional ethics, integrity, and judgement: Recognised for maintaining high standards of professional conduct and making sound, principled decisions.
  • Expert financial modelling and analytical skills: Mastery of valuation techniques and financial analysis, with the ability to oversee, challenge, and elevate complex analytical work.
  • Advanced client relationship management: Proven ability to build, maintain, and deepen senior client relationships, engaging with clients in a professional, mature, and influential manner.
  • Strong leadership and team orientation: Demonstrated success in leading, motivating, and collaborating within high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Superior organisational and strategic skills: Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive strategic initiatives at a senior level.
  • Outstanding communication skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively to clients and internal stakeholders.
