QTR, part of the Markets Trading organization within the Commercial & Investment Bank, unites quantitative traders, researchers, and model developers across various asset classes. The team builds pricing and risk-management algorithms, conducts trading strategy research, and develops pricing models for illiquid instruments. Collaborating with senior management, the Business Management team guides business strategy, manages risks, addresses regulatory initiatives, optimizes performance, and coordinates development efforts. Positioned on the trading floor, the team works closely with traders, marketers, and support functions, offering a dynamic and strategic role.
As a Vice President in QTR Business Management, you will be a trusted advisor to the Head of Quantitative Trading and the Chief Data Officer—creating capacity by managing day‑to‑day operations and helping develop and execute longer‑term strategy. The role spans both Equities and FICC quant trading and research and will assist with program‑managing and accelerating AI/ML initiatives across Markets.
Job Responsibilities
- Implement new business strategy, strategic initiatives or platforms, including aligning department and support groups (Finance, Tech, Ops, Legal, Compliance)
- Program manage Markets AI/ML and data/platform modernization; coordinate model lifecycle, governance, and delivery roadmaps
- Drive business performance: analyze P&L and expenses, identify productivity levers, lead cost/benefit cases, and improve core processes
- Develop the annual budget, including revenue, expense and headcount planning
- Own controls and planning: coordinate regulatory/control initiatives; lead annual budgeting (revenue, expense, headcount); represent QTR in internal/external working groups.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 4 plus years experience in roles supporting Sales & Trading or Business Management/COO, Chief of Staff, or Product Management roles
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication; credible with senior front‑office and corporate partners.
- Self‑starter with strong communication; able to lead and influence meetings; high energy and enthusiasm; able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast‑paced trading‑floor environment.
- High intellectual curiosity and ability to execute business priorities in a high‑paced environment.
- Financial acumen across P&L and expense management; familiarity with market structure and trading concepts.
- Strong analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present, and draw conclusions; able to partner with and influence a broad range of groups.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience with systematic/electronic trading workflows.
- Familiarity with data platforms and modernization (e.g., reference data adoption, model/tooling platforms).
- Prior business management experience.
- Product and/or market‑structure knowledge in equities or fixed income, currencies, or commodities.
- Advanced PowerPoint/Excel; comfort with analytics/dashboards (e.g., Tableau/Power BI) a plus.
