You will be responsible for driving Transformation projects for Card Risk—modernizing how data is defined, governed, produced, and consumed across reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use cases—while also driving to improve speed, quality, and consistency. This role will build scalable data foundations (including reusable data products and features), strengthen quality and controls, and partner closely with CCB Risk Technology and enterprise data teams to deliver solutions on modern platforms (e.g., Databricks). You will operate with strong judgment in a controlled environment and influence senior stakeholders across Risk, Technology, Operations, and business partners.
Job responsibilities
- Lead the Card Risk Data & Process Transformation portfolio: identify opportunities, define target state, prioritize roadmap, and drive execution with measurable outcomes.
- Own Feature Store product management and adoption: roadmap, onboarding, documentation/catalog, versioning, lifecycle governance, change management, quality checks, and monitoring.
- Define and maintain data dictionaries, standard definitions, and key features to ensure consistent Card Risk consumption across reporting, analytics, and AI/ML use cases.
- Partner with CCB Risk Technology to translate business requirements into engineered solutions (including AI/ML-enabled capabilities where appropriate): define requirements, target architecture, and acceptance criteria; validate delivered outcomes.
- Define and improve process standards and operating routines across the Card Risk function to enable sustained execution, controls-by-design, and scalable automation.
- Enable self-serve consumption and reuse through curated, well-documented assets; drive adoption, training, and stakeholder enablement.
- Interact frequently with cross-functional partners and present to senior managers/executives; communicate trade-offs, risks, and recommendations clearly.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to a group(s) of professionals; demonstrate effective people management and leadership skills.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- MS / Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Math, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering) or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading data transformation / modernization programs in a regulated environment.
- Experience partnering with Technology on modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks/Spark ecosystem) and translating business needs into actionable requirements.
- High degree of judgment and independent decision making; comfort operating in ambiguity and driving outcomes across complex stakeholder groups.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact across departments/functions and present to executives.
- Strong people management and leadership experience.
- Technical fluency: strong SQL; Knowledge on Spark/Py Spark concepts; strong PowerPoint/Excel.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with data product operating models (including Data Mesh concepts such as domain ownership and federated governance).
- Experience enabling reusable feature/dataset assets for analytics/AI/ML (Feature Store experience a plus, but not required).
- Experience with process transformation / automation (operating model design, workflow standardization, measurable efficiency and risk outcomes).
- Prior experience in lending/cards risk data domains (origination, portfolio management, line management, servicing/default).
