The Export & Agency Finance (“EAF”) Associate will support the origination, structuring and execution of export credit agency (“ECA”), development finance institution (“DFI”) and multilateral development bank (“MDB”) backed financings involving J.P. Morgan’s clients globally.

The role requires close collaboration with coverage bankers, product partners, official agencies and external advisors to deliver structured financing solutions for cross-border transactions. Being based in Seoul, the Associate will primarily support transactions with a Korean nexus, in addition to supporting the broader APAC region.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute across the deal life cycle – from origination to execution and transition to portfolio management post-closing
  • Support senior transactors globally in advancing the transaction through the deal life cycle
  • Prepare client marketing materials, pricing models, internal deal memos, execution checklist, among others
  • Coordinate transaction execution with internal teams and external stakeholders including the client/sponsors, ECAs, legal counsel and technical/E&S advisors
  • Assist in negotiation of financing terms and legal documentation
  • Maintain working relationships with export credit agencies in Korea and globally
  • Take ownership of internal systems and processes and align with JPMorgan internal operating procedures and policies
  • Contribute to content development for internal & external thought leadership
  • Produce pipeline reporting and provide analytics for senior management
  • Build & leverage internal network, principally with colleagues in Trade & Working Capital, Payments, Global Corporate Bank, Credit, Legal and other functional partners

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills :

  • Previous experience with debt financing solutions (e.g. ECA financing, project finance, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Strong technical and financial skills with knowledge of cross-border loan documentation
  • Project management capability to manage complex multi-party transactions
  • Strong business communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to carry out analysis for comparing alternative financing structures
  • Ability to develop relationship management proficiencies with internal & external clients and leadership skills by acting as a go-to person for certain aspects of deal management
  • Advanced skill in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
  • Fluent in Korean and English
