As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking's Equities Electronic Trading team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Architect, build, and enhance Equities OMS for ETF & Program Trading
- Deliver new features, resolve bugs, and ensure system reliability
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust products
- Guide technical teams, review/debug code, and champion best practices
- Support release rollouts and provide expert Level 3 production support
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Add to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Deep expertise in Core Java. Skilled in Linux, REST API, Spring Boot, SQL with experience across the full SDLC.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), data structures, algorithms, and Java garbage collection (GC).
- Experience with multi-threaded and distributed systems. Experience with large-scale distributed, mission-critical systems
- Familiarity with message/event-driven applications and Messaging APIs (JMS). Knowledge of CI/CD, TDD, resiliency, and application security
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Proven track record of delivering results in collaborative teams
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- Knowledge of AWS, FIX Protocol, and Trade lifecycle
