Platform Product Manager – Cloud Platform Engineering

At JPMorgan Chase, we understand that customers seek exceptional value and a seamless experience from a trusted financial institution. That’s why we launched Chase UK to transform digital banking with intuitive and enjoyable customer journeys. With a strong foundation of trust established by millions of customers in the US, we have been rapidly expanding our presence in the UK and soon across Europe. We have been building the bank of the future from the ground up, offering you the chance to join us and make a significant impact.

As a Platform Product Manager within the International Consumer Bank, you will play a critical leadership role in our Cloud Platform—shaping product vision and strategy across multiple teams. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy to drive complex, cross-cutting outcomes, partnering closely with Engineering, Security, Risk, Compliance and Operations to deliver a resilient, secure and developer-friendly platform.

The Cloud Platform Engineering tribe is formed of multiple squads responsible for designing, evolving and supporting the cloud platform. As a Product Manager, you will lead the delivery of infrastructure capabilities that are critical for building, maintaining and expanding the bank’s operations and performance, while fostering strong partnerships across Engineering, Controls, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and own the Cloud Platform vision and multi-year strategy aligned to ICB and firmwide objectives; translate strategy into measurable outcomes and cross-team roadmaps.

  • Lead discovery with platform users and partners to define capabilities that elevate developer experience, reliability, performance, cost efficiency and compliance.

  • Define and prioritise a transparent backlog; decompose initiatives into incremental value with crisp acceptance criteria; make data-informed trade-offs across scope, schedule and risk.

  • Establish high standards for product artefacts and decision quality; work with Platform Engineering peers to raise velocity and impact.

  • Partner with Engineering leadership to ensure scalable, reliable architectures and operational excellence.

  • Embed tech controls and regulatory requirements into product design; automate guardrails and guide products through approvals and risk assessments end-to-end.

  • Orchestrate cross-tribe dependencies, remove impediments and align stakeholders; resolve competing priorities with clear, evidence-based communication.

  • Drive adoption of platform capabilities through effective enablement—concise documentation, training and internal go-to-market—demonstrating measurable value to application teams.

  • Define and track platform KPIs and use insights for continuous improvement.

  • Lead vendor and partner engagement where applicable, including performance management and proactive risk mitigation.

  • Lead incident reviews for platform services and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented and learned across teams.

  • Continually simplify processes, remove unnecessary bureaucracy and promote automation to reduce toil and accelerate safe delivery.

Key Skills:

  • Strategic product leadership across multiteam platforms, delivering complex roadmaps in regulated environments with minimal oversight.

  • Outstanding stakeholder management and influence; builds trust through transparency and effective use of data; adept at resolving ambiguity and contention.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills; comfortable using metrics, telemetry and experimentation to guide priorities and measure outcomes.

  • Deep partnership with Engineering; fluent in discussing technical trade-offs with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

  • Robust risk and controls mindset; integrates regulatory and tech control requirements into product strategy and execution.

  • Teamwork & leadership: coaching, feedback, and mentorship for other Product Managers; sets a high bar for execution.

  • Bias to action; executes with urgency, discipline and quality.

Desired Skills:

  • Senior product management experience for cloud or platform products, or a technical leadership background

  • Solid understanding of cloud architecture and the software development lifecycle; familiarity with Kubernetes, Go, networking, databases, messaging, infrastructure as code, identity and access management, and observability.

  • Experience operating at scale in highly available, secure environments; comfortable with incident management and post-incident improvement.

  • Exposure to financial services regulatory context and platform tech controls.

  • Software vendor management experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and drive process improvements that enhance developer experience and operational resilience.
