As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Finance Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support multiple Java applications on AWS and Internal GAIA Cloud (GAP and GVP) platforms, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

  • Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

  • Serve as the Application Owner for global travel and expense applications, overseeing their development, maintenance, and support

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment

  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to application functionality and user experience

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams in an Agile environment, including Product Managers, UX designers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

  • 8+ years of coding experience in Java and 2 + years of React Development

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies such as Angular or React

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s)

  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods

  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies and cross product team collaboration

  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), application resiliency, and security practices

  • Experience with Micro Services, API development and Cloud Technologies

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • AWS Certifications

  • Full Stack development experience

  • Experience in Financial Organization
