  • As a Lead Technical Program Manager at JPMorgan Chase Commercial Investment Bank
  • Global Payments Technology, you will own end‑to‑end delivery of complex, multi‑team programs that advance firmwide business objectives. You will apply strong technical judgment to shape solutions and architectures while orchestrating resources, budgets, and high‑performing teams. As a subject matter expert, you will drive operational planning and risk management to ensure resilient, secure, and high‑quality delivery.

Job responsibilities

  • Develops and executes comprehensive program plans that integrate technical requirements, dependencies, resource allocation, budgets, and timelines to deliver on scope and on schedule
  • Proactively identifies and mitigates risks and issues, establishing contingency plans, clear ownership, and escalation paths to maintain program momentum
  • Collaborates with engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to define scope, success metrics, and deliverables aligned to strategic objectives
  • Uses data and analytics to assess performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve flow efficiency, cycle time, quality, and outcomes
  • Champions modern delivery practices (Agile/Lean), engineering excellence, and a culture of continuous learning and innovation
  • Leads technical discovery and inception, sequencing, and dependency management across multiple workstreams and platforms, including payment rails and settlement flows
  • Drives effective governance and program rituals (e.g., steering committees, QBRs), ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely decisions
  • Ensures compliance, resiliency, and security requirements are embedded in design and delivery, partnering closely with risk, controls, and cybersecurity teams
  • Manages vendor and third‑party engagements (e.g., SOWs, contracts) and optimize resource and budget forecasts to maximize value

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a large organization
  • Advanced expertise in stakeholder management, with the ability to establish productive working relationships and influence decision-making across cross-functional teams and clients
  • Strong understanding of the software delivery lifecycle, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and environment strategy across distributed systems
  • Experience driving cross‑functional programs with complex dependency maps across multiple platforms, lines of business, and third‑party partners
  • Ability to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps, success metrics, and benefits‑realization plans with clear OKRs
  • Proficiency with program and portfolio tools and reporting (e.g., Jira, Confluence), including building dashboards and using data to guide decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to embed risk, control, security, and compliance requirements into program planning and execution
  • Advanced experience in utilizing technical fluency, including knowledge of vendor products and managing vendor relations, to enable on-demand access to shared pools of applications and services
  • Proven track record of effectively managing resources, budgets, and high-performing teams in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down business, technical, or operational objectives into manageable tasks and activities

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Deep understanding of payments lifecycles and technologies (e.g., card, ACH, RTP, ISO 20022), microservices and APIs, cloud platforms, and event streaming
  • Proven ability to operate Agile at scale (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe), drive outcome‑based roadmaps and OKRs, and influence senior stakeholders through clear communication
  • Relevant certifications a plus (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, SAFe); familiarity with security/compliance frameworks and SRE concepts (SLIs/SLOs, incident and change management)
