As an Analyst/Associate within Rates Middle Office team, you will ensure timely and accurate capture of trades, maintain strong controls, and complete reconciliation checks that keep books and records precise. You will partner closely with trading and support teams to resolve queries, manage risk, and enhance processes. You will contribute to strategic initiatives that evolve our business architecture and strengthen our control environment. Together, we’ll drive operational excellence that supports clients and market integrity.
You will collaborate with operations, technology, finance, risk, and other infrastructure teams to enable a “one team” approach. Job responsibilities
- Capture trades accurately and on time in risk management systems
- Complete intraday and end‑of‑day checks, including completeness and reconciliations
- Collaborate with operations and infrastructure partners to deliver a one‑team approach
- Perform and sign off required controls within agreed timelines
- Communicate clearly with support teams to resolve queries efficiently
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that improve processes and architecture
- Build in‑depth knowledge of trading structures from financial and operational views
- Monitor book management to ensure new activity is processed accurately
- Identify issues proactively and escalate with clear context and actions
- Document workflows and control evidence to support audit and oversight
- Seek and implement opportunities to automate and streamline tasks
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 2 years of experience in Operations roles within Investment Banking industry
- Knowledge of derivatives and hedging products, including Interest Rate Swaps, Basis Swaps, Cross‑Currency Swaps, Forward Rate Agreements (FRA), Foreign Exchange, Zero‑Coupon and Overnight Index Swaps (OIS), bonds, and futures
- Business Proficiency in Japanese and English
- Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to collaborate, explain, and challenge constructively
- Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership in a dynamic environment
- Analytical and numerical skills with a disciplined control mindset
- Problem‑solving and project management skills to drive tasks to completion
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands
- Team‑oriented approach with adaptability to change
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Prior experience in trade support or middle office related role
- Knowledge in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is a plus
