• As a Software Engineer III - Data Engineering and MLOps at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking
• Security Services Data Lake team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will design, deploy, and operate agentic AI and ML solutions; build scalable data pipelines; and automate CI/CD, orchestration, and observability for training and inference. You’ll bridge data science, software engineering, and production operations to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable AI/ML systems. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Design, build, and operate scalable batch/streaming pipelines for the Securities Services Data Lake
• Deploy and manage agentic AI/LLM and ML services; automate training, inference, and feature pipelines
• Develop APIs/microservices to expose data and ML capabilities to business applications
• Build and optimize training/serving infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost
• Establish observability (monitoring, logging/tracing, data quality, drift, alerting) and track SLOs
• Manage data/model lifecycle (registries, artifacts, rollbacks, canary/blue‑green releases)
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages; Java/Python/Spark/SQL
• Expertise in Cloud Technologies like AWS
• Strong knowledge and experience of AI and Machine Learning systems and techniques.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience with Databricks
• Establish observability (monitoring, logging/tracing, data quality, drift alerting) and track SLO's
• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
