Job Summary
As a Vice President in our Security & Resiliency Initiative (SRI) Investment Banking group, you will be a key player in driving our $1.5 trillion, 10-year commitment to investing in industries critical to America’s economic security. You will lead the execution of transactions across supply chain, defense, energy, and advanced technology sectors, acting as the primary day-to-day client point of contact and lead banker on deals. You will work closely with associates, analysts, and senior bankers to deliver impactful solutions, refine marketing and execution materials, and oversee the creation of financial models and analyses. You will develop and strengthen your expertise in the major areas of investment banking, while helping build J.P. Morgan’s franchise and reputation in the marketplace. Job Responsibilities
- Act as the primary day-to-day client point of contact and lead banker on transactions within supply chain, defense, energy, and advanced technology sectors.
- Lead the execution of high-profile deals, including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and capital raises, as part of our $1.5 trillion, 10-year commitment to America’s economic security.
- Review and coordinate the analytic work of junior bankers to advance the marketing and execution process.
- Refine and enhance marketing and execution materials to maximize client impact and communicate the strategic value of SRI investments.
- Oversee the creation and review of detailed financial projection models and valuation analyses.
- Identify, assess, and manage financial, legal, and reputational risks associated with complex transactions.
- Liaise with internal and external parties—including lawyers, accountants, and counterparties—to ensure seamless transaction execution.
- Lead client negotiations, Q&A processes, and management interviews, representing J.P. Morgan’s expertise and commitment to the SRI initiative.
- Mentor and train junior bankers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Prior work experience in an investment banking front office role, with demonstrated expertise in executing complex transactions.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including corporates and financial institutions, particularly within supply chain, defense, energy, and advanced technology sectors.
- Experience in training, mentoring, and managing junior bankers, fostering professional growth and team collaboration.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts and ideas concisely and persuasively to senior professionals, clients, and key stakeholders.
- Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, including proficiency in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction analysis.
- Strong understanding of the transaction cycle and the ability to manage projects independently, assuming a high level of responsibility within a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines, synthesizing large amounts of information to develop innovative solutions.
- Professional maturity and confidence in client interactions, negotiations, and presentations.
- Excellent understanding of financial, legal, and reputational risks facing large integrated investment banks, with a commitment to upholding J.P. Morgan’s standards of integrity and excellence.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- A well-rounded academic background from a top-tier educational institution.
- Direct experience or deep knowledge in one or more of the following sectors: supply chain, defense, energy, or advanced technology, with a track record of advising clients or executing transactions in these areas.
