Business Overview & Role Description:
Securities Services Finance & Business Management is seeking a business manager at Vice President level based in New York. The role will provide support for the Depositary Receipts business as well as supporting the Trading Services Americas business head and help to deliver key strategic initiatives within the business.
In this pivotal role, you will drive performance optimization and coordinate strategy and key initiatives across Depositary Receipts business. This dynamic position requires resilience, flexibility, and a positive attitude. The candidate will work closely with the business along with the functional partners across the firm which includes Product Management, Sales, Product Controllers, Planning & Analysis, as well as Product Development, Risk, BCO, Compliance, Operations, and Technology.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Act as a trusted advisor / counterweight to the business team for Business Strategy and Growth
- Partner with the business and management team to develop priorities to enable delivery of the overall strategy for the business
- Lead the development of new business initiatives, understand the risks and implement controls, in partnership with functional partners
- Manage forecasts within changing market environment and ensure robust client planning for Business Performance and Planning
- Take the leadership role in the Depositary Receipts budget process for Trading Services (supported by Product Controllers and P&A)
- Drive investment / productivity initiatives to achieve multi-year targets
- Align front office teams and support groups to achieve business priorities around the strategic agenda
- Support the Product lead and CFO to drive the businesses forward
- Compile and present monthly business reviews, new business tracking and periodic management updates for Management Reporting
- Oversee tracking key performance indicators and highlight trending, considerations to help maximize profit, reduce risks and ensure cost discipline
- Understand the impact of new regulations on the business and how that may impact the business strategy for Regulation, Risk and Controls
- Provide business overviews and updates for Product meetings with Regulators and ad-hoc requests
- Develop ad-hoc analytics to help the business better understand and manage costs, risks, pricing, growth opportunities
- Communication of Results and Forecasting – providing timely, accurate, and thorough information on variances and risks & opportunities to Budget
Your Background:
- 5+ years’ experience in financial services including prior experience in Securities Services
- Strong track record in finance and accounting
- Expertise with Excel and PowerPoint for executive-level presentations and messaging
- Ability to partner/collaborate with business and functional stakeholders across the organization to drive execution and influence prioritization and delivery of objectives
- Ability to think/act strategically and comfortable working independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience establishing and meeting goals, tracking and driving enhancement opportunities, and presenting progress
- Strong organizational, time management and follow-up skills; flexibility, ability to prioritize requests and multi-task
