As an Analyst in Equity Research, you will help conduct and facilitate industry analysis and company-specific coverage for the Greater China financials team, including banks, insurance companies, securities firms, and leasing companies. Research is fast-paced, demanding, and intellectually stimulating. We seek candidates with strong accounting, finance, quantitative, and business writing/communication skills, as well as experience in modeling, forecasting, and valuation.

Working closely with the Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing companies and industry trends within the Greater China financial sector, building financial models, understanding industry dynamics, interacting with company management, collecting and analyzing industry and company data, and supporting the production of research reports on relevant sectors and companies.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct core research, including dissecting earnings releases, regulatory filings, and assessing relevant news events for banks, insurance, securities, and leasing companies in Greater China.
• Build and maintain financial models, perform detailed valuation work, and analyze industry dynamics.
• Write research notes, sector pieces, and contribute to comprehensive research reports.
• Engage with internal and external clients, as well as management teams, to discuss sector and company developments.
• Collaborate with partners in sales and trading to provide comprehensive client coverage, including fulfilling client requests for market updates and intelligence.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Strong academic performance with demonstrated proficiency in accounting, quantitative analysis, and finance.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite**.**
• Strong written and oral communication skills; fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
• Passion for capital markets and the financial industry, with a particular interest in the Greater China region.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Progress toward, or completion of, the CFA designation is a plus.
• Senior Securities Broker license is a plus.
• 1-3 years of experience in equity research roles (either buy side or sell side) preferred.
• Experience or knowledge of the Greater China financial sector (banks, insurance, securities, leasing) is highly desirable.
