The Tax Operations Team, being part of Payment Operations within Global Supplier Services, manages indirect tax obligations arising from the firm’s Accounts Payable activities (e.g., VAT, GST, US Sales & Use Tax and various withholding and reporting regimes globally), Employment Taxes resulting from payments of staff expenses as well as owning the US Personal Property Tax and US Sales & Use Tax compliance for the whole firm.
Job Summary
As an Associate within the Global Services Support team, you will be responsible for supporting all these functions as required, but predominately the taxes and reporting requirements relating to US Sales and Use Tax, Global Withholding Taxes and US Personal Property Tax.
Job responsibilities
- Review vendor invoices on payment block to assess withholding tax applicability and release eligible invoices for payment.
- Manage the calculation and payment of personal property tax including maintaining assets and records with relevant taxing authorities and Jurisdictions.
- Oversee sales and use tax compliance, including the preparation and filing of returns, reconciliation of accounts, and research of taxability issues.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis and insight for process improvement initiatives and operational automation to support changes in tax reporting regulations and new initiatives generally on a periodic basis.
- Monitoring and reporting reconciliations for supporting payment data, undertaking analysis and interpretation to identify and/or resolve breaks and issues which could have a tax impact.
- Work on projects to implement new tax rules and regulations as necessary specific to your area of expertise.
- Ensure issues are raised / escalated promptly and ownership taken to drive through to resolution.
- Operate with a control focus, ensuring risks and dependencies are highlighted, with mitigation options presented.
- Cross training and participation on other tax reporting activities undertaken by the team as necessary.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Candidate must have minimum Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in relevant field.
- Functional understanding of accounting, general ledger expenses and Indirect Tax.
- Good analytical skills, a problem solver and logical thinker with strong attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written English language communication skills with good interpersonal skills essential.
- Good MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, Power Point).
Share Point and Alteryx knowledge:
- Ability to work in agile environment with, and use, large amounts of data in an organized and effective manner.
- Good time management and prioritization skills including the ability to work within strict deadlines.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance is preferred.
