Position Overview
As part of Risk Management and Compliance, you are at the center of keeping JPMorgan Chase strong and resilient. You help the firm grow its business in a responsible way by anticipating new and emerging risks, and using your expert judgement to solve real-world challenges that impact our company, customers and communities.
As an Executive Director on the Consumer Branded Card Acquisitions Risk team, you will define and refine credit criteria for branded card products, ensuring growth objectives are met while delinquency and loss performance remain within our risk appetite. You will utilize your deep expertise in credit risk management, product collaboration, and stakeholder engagement, including evaluation of alternative data to support testing, innovative capabilities, and growth initiatives. You will also build the leadership pipeline and foster a high-performance, inclusive culture.
Job Responsibilities
- Set and evolve acquisition credit criteria across channels to align with growth, profitability, and risk appetite.
- Assess expected losses, profitability, and customer behavior to inform launch recommendations and sustainable scaling.
- Track approval rates, credit quality, delinquency, and losses; identify opportunities for criteria enhancements and risk mitigation.
- Brief general managers and senior leaders on performance drivers, approval trends, and strategic recommendations.
- Serve as a key partner to Product, Marketing, and Finance, sharing insights on application volume, credit trends, and upcoming model/criteria changes.
- Evaluate new products/channels and design risk guardrails that balance growth and sound risk management; leverage champion-challenger testing.
- Maintain robust documentation and controls; support internal/external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and policy requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team; build leadership bench and drive a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- 10+ years of credit risk management experience
- Strong understanding of consumer lending profit and loss and key drivers of credit card loss and profitability
- Proven track record in product collaboration, risk analytics, and stakeholder management.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience engaging senior leaders and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Experience with audit processes and maintaining strong documentation and controls.

Risk Management helps the firm understand, manage and anticipate risks in a constantly changing environment. The work covers areas such as evaluating country-specific risk, understanding regulatory changes and determining credit worthiness. Risk Management provides independent oversight and maintains an effective control environment.
