As an Analyst within the Securities Based Lending (SBL) team, you will support Lenders with core operational and credit support activities. This includes reviewing and processing origination and amendment requests for loans, lines of credit and derivatives that are fully collateralized by liquid marketable securities. You will also support ongoing portfolio management, including identifying and resolving credit exceptions. This is an entry-level role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyse origination and amendment credit requests to confirm adherence to policy, accuracy of borrower analysis and completeness of the credit risk assessment, within a target turnaround time of two business days.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including Bankers, Investors, Lending Advisors, Credit Executives and Legal, to support appropriate product solutions and structures.
- Generate, review and deliver credit documentation in a timely and controlled manner.
- Maintain ongoing awareness of potential credit issues and proactively resolve exceptions, including margin shortfalls, past-due principal or interest, transactional issues and documentation exceptions.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Fluency (written and spoken) in English and French.
- Bachelor's degree and/or relevant experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of, or experience with, credit risk and/or lending analysis, including lending value analysis, derivatives, credit regulations and legal documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables and support process improvement.
- Ability to work effectively in an integrated team environment.
