Job responsibilities

• Act as a day-to-day leader focused on M&A, originating and executing M&A transactions from the Japan platform as well as JPMorgan’s global clients, covering clients across all sectors rather than specializing in a particular industry.
• Lead dialogue with clients and transaction/marketing counterparties, winning mandates in collaboration with coverage partners and senior bankers.
• Collaborate and liaise with various coverage partners, both in Japan and globally, in origination and execution.
• Collaborate and liaise with other product groups such as ECM, DCM, and Markets to cross-sell other products.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• More than 6 years’ work experience in an investment banking front office role

• A well-rounded academic background from a top-tier educational institution

• Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact and influence clients, professionals, and counterparties in both Japanese and English

• Self-directed, highly motivated and able to work independently and proactively

• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills to lead project teams in execution

• Understands transaction cycle and the steps in the process

• Strong financial analytical skills
