Within F&BM, the Controllers organization is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of the financial statements and controls over the transaction cycle; performing critical reporting functions for the organization, both financial and regulatory, as well as ensuring execution and implementation of the overall financial architecture.

Role Description:

This role supports the Latam GIB function covering Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Equity Capital Markets (ECM), and the Latam Client Billing function. As a product controller analyst, you will support the integrity and accuracy of the financial statements and assist in the governance of the transaction control cycle.

This position offers a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to develop a strong understanding of GIB products and become a valued partner to various Finance Teams, while building relationships with business leaders as well as Corporate and CIB Central Finance Teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong accounting, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, which are critical for collaborating across multiple functions and regions. The role also emphasizes innovation, intelligent solutions, and active participation in projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support all aspects of Latam GIB Product Control, including daily P&L and risk reporting, month-end close, analysis of revenue drivers, balance sheet movements, and linkage of business activity to full financial results.
  • Partner with Latam GIB businesses and wider functions (Business Management, Middle Office, Technology, Corporate Accounting Policies, Legal, Front Office, and Financial Control) to provide effective support and control oversight, helping to maintain a strong control environment and facilitate business growth.
  • Assist in providing accounting guidance to the business and support the management of impacts to product control from legal entity and regulatory changes, as well as Volcker Reporting.
  • Assist in the identification of control issues/risks and contribute to the implementation of effective control processes, driving increased efficiency and innovation.
  • Participate in select global initiatives and Latam GIB and finance-related projects, including enhancements to global systems and processes such as Aqueduct, Aggregator, and Client Billing System enhancements.
  • Support Internal Audit and/or Risk-driven product reviews and product deep dives for the region, and assist in new product approvals (NBIA's) from a finance control perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with control policies, standards, and procedures – e.g., P&L and Risk minimum standards compliance, Product Control accountability standards, Income attribution (GMRA), SAPCo (GMSA) compliance, and Volcker compliance.
  • Contribute innovative and intelligent solutions to improve processes and controls, and actively participate in projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; progress toward professional accounting qualification (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is a plus.

  • 1–3 years' experience in accounting, finance, or control functions, ideally with exposure to Investment Banking products or financial services.

  • Sound commercial acumen and awareness of financial services industry practices across multiple asset classes.

  • Demonstrated ability to support the identification and resolution of control and risk management issues that may impact financial results.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and intelligent solutions.

  • Confident communicator who can work effectively with partners and stakeholders and performs well under pressure.

  • Strong control mindset and attention to detail, with the ability to challenge the status quo, generate ideas, and support solutions to completion.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and committed individual, eager to learn and contribute to team success.

  • Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.

  • Proficiency in Excel is required; familiarity with Alteryx, Tableau, UIPath, Qlik, and Business Objects.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Knowledge of Python would be highly appreciated.

  • Spanish is considered a plus.
