As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology (CT), in this role you will apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. You will continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.

Job responsibilities

  • Becomes a trusted advisor for Corporate Technology (CT) on Cloud Usage Optimization best practices. ​​
  • Supports technologists in maximizing cloud variable spending by applying rightsizing, scheduling, and serverless options ​
  • Leads calls to keep stakeholders informed, providing insights and suggested courses of actions ​
  • Evangelizes well architecture frameworks. ​
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of cloud technologies, services, agile methodologies, and IT operations.
  • Supports stakeholders in understanding cloud spending to budget based on business roadmap and execution. ​

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, EMR, autoscaling, S3, KMS, etc​
  • Hands-on experience with Cloudwatch, Datadog, and Terraform ​
  • Ability to analyze cloud utilization data/bills and help identify anomalies ​
  • Able to analyze and produce meaningful insights ​
  • Strong organizational skills, good judgment, fact-based and decision-making ability ​
  • Able to influence others across multiple functional areas to lead change ​
  • Cloud experience (GCP, AWS, and Azure)
  • Strong understanding of AWS services across EC2/ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, S3/EBS/FSx, NAT/VPC/ALB/NLB, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudFront.
  • Optimize storage: S3 lifecycle policies, Intelligent-Tiering, Glacier transitions, multi-part upload tuning; EBS volume type/I/O tuning, snapshot hygiene and deduplication.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Fin Ops Certified Practitioner or equivalent experience
  • Experience with AWS cost optimization capabilities: budgets, saving plans, enterprise discounts, trusted advisor, reservations, spot instances, reserved instances, etc.​
  • Experience with Fin Ops Tools ​
