As an Associate / Vice President in Macro Sales, you partner with us to originate, shape and execute ideas for China financial institution clients across rates and FX. You work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver timely market color, actionable trade ideas and seamless execution from our Hong Kong trading floor. You communicate clearly, prioritize client needs and help strengthen team culture through collaboration and accountability.
Job responsibilities
- Lead and deepen relationships with a designated portfolio of China financial institution clients.
- Partner with trading, syndicate, structuring and research to provide comprehensive coverage across rates and FX.
- Deliver timely market commentary, pricing updates and actionable trade ideas across IRS, CCS, cash rates and FX spot/forwards/NDFs/options.
- Understand onshore and offshore drivers for APAC and China rates/FX markets to inform engagement and execution.
- Coordinate client interactions around new issues, hedging flows and event‑driven opportunities with internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and present tailored client materials that integrate research views and market intelligence.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, operations and risk to ensure smooth onboarding and accurate trade lifecycle management.
- Maintain rigorous risk management standards and comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Track pipeline, flows and coverage priorities to optimize wallet share and commercial outcomes.
- Contribute to a collaborative desk culture and support junior team members’ development.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Associate level: minimum 4 years of relevant experience in rates/FX sales, research or buy‑side.
- Vice President level: minimum 6 years of relevant experience in rates/FX sales, research or buy‑side.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related disciplines.
- Strong product knowledge across macro products: FX (spot/forwards/NDFs/options), rates derivatives (IRS, cross‑currency swaps) and cash rates (Govies, SSA, MBS/CMO, PPN etc.), with comfort in pricing and execution. Any solution/structure trades experience will be a plus.
- Established relationships with China financial institution clients and ability to originate opportunities.
- Demonstrated track record managing significant client relationships and generating consistent revenue.
- Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) and professional proficiency in English.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; confident engaging senior stakeholders.
- High level of numeracy; proficiency with market tools and Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Ability to work effectively with trading and research in a fast‑paced environment; highly organized and detail‑oriented.
- In Hong Kong, due recognition will be given to professional qualifications attained from reputable training institutes or professional bodies.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience in the Hong Kong market and familiarity with regional investor dynamics.
- Professional credentials (e.g., CFA or relevant Hong Kong qualifications) are a plus.
- Experience coordinating investor marketing, corporate access and cross‑border execution.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; adaptable to changing market conditions.
- Ability to build trust with clients and internal stakeholders by understanding their needs.
- Entrepreneurial, self‑motivated mindset with ability to build and develop business.
