Posting description

ABS Originations sits at the intersection of Corporate Finance and Markets (Sales & Trading). The work is fast-paced, demanding, and highly stimulating, with a continuous learning curve. We’re a collaborative, intellectually curious team that analyzes, models, and structures innovative client financing solutions across the Americas. This role offers high impact and visibility as you help drive growth in Latin America and support U.S. activities.

Job summary

As an Associate or Vice President on the ABS Originations team, you will originate and execute complex financings across LATAM and the U.S., work closely with senior management, and engage directly with clients, J.P. Morgan coverage teams, rating agencies, legal counsel, investors, and other stakeholders. You’ll own analyses and modeling, lead documentation and execution, and manage ongoing portfolio and risk to deliver innovative client solutions.

Job responsibilities

  • Originate, structure, price, and execute asset‑backed securities transactions across diverse asset classes and jurisdictions.
  • Lead private ABS financings for LATAM clients (e.g., auto, payroll finance, credit card, unsecured consumer, SME).
  • Support U.S. activities, including real‑estate financing (single‑family and i Buyer strategies) and ABS Principal Finance (loan portfolio purchases and forward‑flow arrangements across student loans, auto, unsecured consumer, SME, and related assets).
  • Drive complex transactions from pitch through due diligence, execution, and ongoing portfolio/client management.
  • Review and negotiate transaction and legal documentation.
  • Analyze opportunities using data tapes and performance histories; identify trends and build portfolio cash flow and ABS structure models.
  • Perform portfolio surveillance and manage risk and positions (marking, hedging, P&L).

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 4–7 years of securitization‑related experience.
  • Business proficiency in Spanish (spoken and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to model and price ABS structures.
  • Proficiency with rating agency methodologies for structured finance.
  • Strong quantitative skills to analyze and interpret data, detect trends, and assess how performance and market metrics impact risk and valuation.
  • Ability to tailor workable solutions across accounting, corporate finance, bank capital, tax, legal, and other market considerations.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Excellent writing, research, and verbal presentation skills.
  • Programming expertise is highly desirable.
  • Strong sense of urgency with attention to detail and quality that enhances client service.
  • Strong teamwork skills and comfort working with a diverse set of clients and stakeholders.
