As a Vice President, Business Manager in the Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities team within Asset Management, you will be a trusted advisor who connects strategy to execution across Asia Pacific. You will prioritize and deliver initiatives that grow the business, enhance governance, and simplify processes. You will collaborate with partners across Control Management, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Technology to resolve time‑sensitive issues, prepare for audits and examinations, and build scalable, consistent processes that align with our global operating model.
Job Responsibilities
- Contribute to the prioritisation and delivery of strategic GFICC business initiatives, with a strong focus on APAC initiatives that support the growth of the GFICC business in the region.
- Communicate effectively with key business partners regionally and globally to understand initiatives and drive next steps, building scalable, consistent processes aligned with our global model.
- Resolve time‑sensitive business issues as they arise and provide a high level of responsiveness to ad hoc requests.
- Work with local and global managers to contribute to annual business planning and operating strategy reviews, and prioritise and provide input into the design of technology projects.
- Represent GFICC APAC at regional and global committees and governance forums.
- Organise complex information in a strategic and compelling way, demonstrating strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint for presentations to GFICC senior management.
- Become familiar with key regulations relevant to GFICC APAC; represent the business in industry working groups; and support regulatory change, governance oversight and product development initiatives.
- Represent GFICC APAC during regulatory examinations and visits, and in internal and external audits.
- Partner with Control Management to ensure GFICC APAC meets operational risk and control objectives, including completion of action plans.
- Coordinate and partner with other asset‑class Business Management teams to align on best practices, particularly for audit preparation and control initiatives.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams, continually seeking ways to simplify, improve and add value to existing business processes.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a business management, finance, controls, risk or strategy role, with a strong understanding of financial markets or asset management.
- Proactive and excellent communicator with the ability to connect with diverse audiences and build relationships at all levels, including senior managers.
- Able to work independently, proactively addressing time‑sensitive issues, and confident communicating with senior stakeholders.
- Able to manage multiple complex, fast‑paced and multi‑faceted projects, with the flexibility to meet changing requirements and priorities.
- Strong problem‑solving skills; methodical and self‑disciplined, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong desire to further develop knowledge, including how to leverage new AI and automation technologies.
- Highly motivated self‑starter who takes ownership and strives for excellence.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Sound judgement on when to escalate to regional and global managers.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Understanding of fixed income, foreign exchange (FX) and derivatives products is highly beneficial.
- Professional fluency in Mandarin to support interactions with Asset Management China and Taiwan colleagues.
- Professional qualifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
