As a Firco Soft Application Developer – Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Sanctions Screening Technology, you will build and own enterprise-scale Firco Soft platforms at global scale.

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a highly specialized Firco Soft engineer to strengthen our Sanctions Screening Technology platform within the Corporate & Investment Bank. This role is designed for professionals who bring hands-on, production-grade experience with Firco Soft implementations and want to operate at the highest level of technical ownership and impact.

You will work on mission-critical sanctions screening systems that process massive transaction volumes and protect the firm, our clients, and the global financial system. This is not a support role—it is a core engineering position where your Firco Soft expertise directly shapes architecture, performance, and platform evolution.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. Design and implement high-throughput, low-latency sanctions screening workflows using Firco Soft components.
• Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. End-to-end ownership of Firco Soft-based solutions across design, development, configuration, optimization, and production stability.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development. Create and enforce architecture and design standards for Firco Soft implementations.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Analyze production behavior, identify bottlenecks, and lead performance tuning and stability improvements.
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies. Partner with product, compliance, and operations teams to deliver solutions that meet regulatory and business-critical requirements.
• Perform development and configuration of: Continuity V6, Screening Preparation, FOL, and Firco Utilities.
• Build and maintain robust Java-based integrations (Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, PL/SQL) aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Drive microservices and messaging-based designs to support scalability and resiliency.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on Firco Soft software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience

• 3+ years of proven experience delivering and supporting Firco Soft solutions in large, complex, enterprise environments.

• Perform practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.

• Proficient in coding in one or more languages.

• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.

• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, including production support and operational resilience.

• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).

• Practical experience or formal training in Kubernetes and AWS concepts.

• Experience with Firco Soft, including deep knowledge of: Continuity V6, Screening Preparation, FOL, and Firco Utilities.

• Development and configuration expertise using: Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, PL/SQL, Microservices and messaging technologies.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
• Exposure to cloud technologies
• Multi-year experience implementing and upgrading latest Firco Soft versions, especially Continuity V6
• Experience modernizing or re-architecting legacy Firco Soft platforms
• Exposure to cloud-native architectures and containerized deployments
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts applied to screening, alert reduction, or data analysis
• Experience working directly with compliance, risk, or sanctions teams
