Job Summary:

GAIS is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Product Owner to lead the development, enhancement, and scaling of portfolio management capabilities for our Alternatives businesses, including Private Equity Group (PEG), JP Morgan Alternatives Asset Management (JPMAAM), and Wealth Management Private Investment Portfolio Solutions (PIPS). Job Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate leverages a commercial mindset, demonstrates superior analytical skills, and is an effective change leader.

  • Define Portfolio Management Product Vision & Strategy

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of client needs, market trends, and the competitive landscape—including vendor, fintech and AI-driven offerings—to guide product direction and capability development.

  • Develop robust business cases for new initiatives (including build vs. buy), including thorough cost-benefit analyses and present these cases to senior leadership and stakeholders to drive informed decision-making and optimal resource allocation.

  • Product Development & Delivery

  • Deliver via agile/JPM disciplines, including annual and quarterly investment plans and execution of planned milestones; provide timely reporting of forecasted variances to plan with risk mitigation as required.

  • Drive user-centric design by building and testing low-to-mid fidelity prototypes, ensuring technical requirements align with user workflows before moving into full-scale development.

  • Leverage objectives and key results (OKRs) to drive understanding, agreement and realization of commercial benefits. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, client satisfaction, and business impact.

  • Lead and coach product managers, design, and technology team members to achieve results across the product development lifecycle: current state usage & performance, feedback gathering, prioritization, execution, and communication of enhancements.

  • Client Focus

  • Champion the voice of the client, ensuring solutions meet the evolving needs of institutional and private banking clients.

  • Partner with client-facing teams to support product positioning, training, and ongoing client engagement.

  • Stakeholder Management, Governance & Risk

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for portfolio management capabilities across Alternatives lines of business, legal, risk, and compliance.

  • Establish and lead governance cabinets to oversee product development, ensure alignment with strategic objectives, facilitate cross-functional decision-making, and maintain adherence to regulatory and risk management standards.

Required qualification, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years of experience in asset/wealth management, alternatives, product management, or related fields.
  • Deep understanding of alternative investment products, portfolio management, and fund-of-funds structures.
