We are seeking a highly technical and hands-on Executive Director to lead our Securities Services Data Platform product team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in data lake technologies—especially Databricks—product management, and the securities services domain. This leadership role will drive the strategy, development, and delivery of our data lake solutions, partnering closely with engineering, operations, and business teams. The Executive Director will oversee a team including Vice Presidents and Analysts, providing strategic direction and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Roadmap:
    Execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Securities Services Data Lake, aligning with business objectives and client needs. Guide the team in prioritizing initiatives and delivering value.

  • Technical Leadership:
    Provide hands-on guidance in data lake architecture, data ingestion, processing, and analytics, with a strong focus on Databricks. Lead collaboration with engineering teams to design scalable and robust solutions.

  • Team Management & Mentorship:
    Manage and mentor a team of Vice Presidents and Analysts, fostering a culture of data excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.

  • Data Quality & Lineage:
    Champion best practices for data quality, data lineage, and metadata management. Implement frameworks and tools to ensure data integrity, traceability, and transparency across the data lake.

  • Stakeholder Management:
    Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including business users, technology teams, and clients, to gather requirements and prioritize features. Represent the team in senior leadership forums.

  • Delivery & Execution:
    Oversee end-to-end product delivery, from concept to deployment, ensuring high-quality releases and continuous improvement across all data lake initiatives.

  • Data Governance & Compliance:
    Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements, setting standards and monitoring adherence across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 15+ years of experience in product management, data engineering, or related roles, with significant exposure to data lake technologies (e.g., Databricks, Hadoop, Spark, AWS, Azure).

  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (databricks, snowflake etc), including building and managing scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions.

  • Strong background in securities services, financial data, or capital markets.

  • Proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale data solutions in a leadership capacity.

  • Deep understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, data quality frameworks, data lineage, and analytics platforms.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.

  • Experience managing global, cross-functional teams.
