We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you will be a key member responsible for design and development of scalable design systems, drive legacy application modernization using JPMorgan Chase design standards and deliver exceptional user experiences. You will leverage AI-powered design tools to accelerate design-to-code workflows and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to transform complex requirements into intuitive, accessible digital solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and modernization of legacy applications following JPMorgan Chase design systems and firm-wide UX standards
  • Architect front-end solutions using React, TypeScript, and Micro Frontend (MFE) patterns (Module Federation, Single-SPA)
  • Leverage AI-powered design tools and Figma plugins to streamline design-to-code workflows and accelerate development
  • Utilize AI-assisted coding tools (GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity and code quality
  • Partner with Product Management to analyze legacy workflows and create innovative user journey maps
  • Create prototypes, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma and AI-enhanced design features
  • Mentor junior engineers on UI/UX best practices, front-end architecture, and AI tooling adoption

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Formal training in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Strong experience building enterprise Design Systems at scale
  • Hands-on experience with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front-end tooling (Webpack, Vite)
  • Experience in developing responsive layouts using CSS3, SCSS, Flexbox, and Grid
  • Experience with Figma and design/prototyping tools
  • Leads legacy application modernization initiatives
  • Architecting Micro Frontend (MFE) solutions
  • Experience with AI-powered design and development tools (Figma AI, design-to-code plugins, AI code assistants)
  • Strong expertise in accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA, semantic HTML)
  • Experience implementing enterprise design systems and component libraries

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Experience with JPMorgan Chase design frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Figma plugins for code generation (Anima, Figma Dev Mode)
  • Proficiency with AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot)
  • Experience integrating generative AI into design workflows for rapid prototyping
  • Experience in financial services or regulated industries
  • Experience with design tokens and theming
