DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop, and maintain backend services ensuring efficient deployment and scaling, while implementing robust tests to guarantee code quality and reliability. Create and optimize web components, focusing on performance and scalability, and conduct thorough component testing to ensure a seamless user experience. Containerize applications to maintain consistency across environments to enhance application performance. Develop and manage deployment pipelines automating build, test, and deployment processes to streamline development workflows and reduce time-to-market. Conduct comprehensive end-to-end testing to validate application functionality and reliability across various environments, ensuring high-quality software delivery. Collaborate on the architectural design of scalable, large-scale applications with a backend-to-front mindset, and implement testing and release strategies to manage feature rollouts and experiments. Work closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, utilizing problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues, optimize performance, and improve application reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Architect, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Developing and maintaining robust backend services using Java ensuring efficient deployment and scaling on AWS ECS clusters; Implementing unit tests with JUnit to ensure code quality and reliability; Designing and implementing advanced React components, focusing on performance and scalability; Conducting unit testing with Jest and component testing with Selenium and Cypress to ensure frontend reliability and user experience; Utilizing Docker for containerizing applications, ensuring consistency across development, testing, and production environments; Leveraging build tools using Webpack to optimize and bundle frontend assets for improved application performance; Implementing and managing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins and Spinnaker; Automating build, test, and deployment processes to enhance development efficiency and reduce time-to-market; Performing comprehensive end-to-end testing using Playwright to validate application functionality and reliability across different environments; Providing architectural design of scalable, large-scale applications with a backend-to-front mindset; Implementing A/B testing and canary release strategies using platforms Split.io to manage feature rollouts and experiments; and collaborating with cross- functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
