Job Summary
As a Payments Sales Manager in the Corporate Payments Sales team, you will focus primarily on generating new Transaction Banking and Treasury Services business from clients headquartered (HQ) in Australia, while also growing existing revenue from the local market. You will work closely with an established team of corporate bankers to ensure proper alignment of strategies and credit capacity for all Transaction Banking and Treasury Services products, in line with Australian market standards and regulatory requirements.
In this sales role, you will develop partnerships with Relationship Managers, Client Service, Product Leadership (Core Cash, Card and Commerce Solutions), and Implementation teams. You will develop and execute a market-specific product strategy, leading and managing key client pursuits and relationships within the Australian business environment.
This is a Transaction Banking / Treasury Services Sales role in which you will be expected to develop new client relationships by working with clients’ Treasurers and Finance teams, providing cash management and liquidity solutions tailored to the Australian banking landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sales of the entire Global Transaction Banking product suite/solution, including treasury services covering core cash clearing, liquidity management, foreign exchange solutions, merchant services, and trade & working capital,
- Achieve new business goals, including the annual sales plan at target margins. Identify prospects and opportunities, develop strategic calling plans, and engage partners and senior managers to influence prospective clients in Australia.
- Build trusted, long-term Global Transaction Banking relationships by taking a holistic and forward-looking view. Identify ways to help clients achieve their most important business and treasury objectives, considering local market trends and regulatory requirements.
- Engage clients at senior and strategic levels to provide integrated treasury solutions within a consultative and client-focused framework. Create strategic dialogues around key client-centric issues, incorporating best practices, benchmarking, opportunity quantification, and solution positioning relevant to the Australian market.
- Partner closely with global and local stakeholders, including Coverage, Product, Client Services, and Implementation teams, to execute the sales strategy.
- Manage the entire sales process, including supervising end-to-end implementation and day-to-day operations of client solutions, ensuring compliance with Australian standards.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Treasury Services sales, with proven ability to build and develop client relationships, win and close new business in the Australian market.
- Strong knowledge of cash and liquidity management products, including familiarity with Australian payment systems and regulations.
- In-depth understanding of the transaction banking landscape in Australia, with considerable knowledge of depository products and treasury management services.
- Excellent communication skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated client ownership with a proven ability to mobilise available resources to deliver for clients.
- Effective partnership skills with internal and external stakeholders, including experience working within the Australian financial services sector.
