Role Purpose

The Field Medical Advisor serves as a strategic and scientific partner within the therapeutic area, proactively leading the medical strategy across the Cross‑Value Team (CVT). The role strengthens Medical Affairs (MAF) as a trusted and valued contributor within a multifunctional environment, supporting the achievement of organizational objectives and the advancement of the future pipeline.

Approximately 80% of the role is field‑based, focusing on establishing deep, meaningful peer‑to‑peer partnerships with the healthcare community to support medical and business goals. The remaining20% is dedicated to medical strategy, including medical education planning, co‑creation and authorization of medical content, training initiatives, and strategic planning activities.

This is a non‑promotional role operating within Medical Affairs governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a scientific partner to the business, contributing to both short‑term and long‑term goals through execution of activities aligned with the Medical Affairs and CVT plans
  • Serve as a therapeutic area scientific expert, delivering high‑quality scientific communication to maximize product value, access, and pipeline development
  • Engage in peer‑to‑peer scientific discussions regarding company products, clinical data, treatment patterns, and studies with a defined group of external stakeholders, including physicians, pharmacists, hospital leadership, and scientific society representatives
  • Be recognized as a trusted scientific counterpart by the healthcare community
  • Play a critical role in supporting patient access initiatives, including post‑clinical trial access and reimbursement‑related activities
  • Drive evidence generation, innovation, digital excellence, and medical leadership by initiating and leading projects that enhance customer and stakeholder engagement

Qualifications

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree required: MD, PharmD, PhD, or MSc in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline

Experience

  • Prior experience within Medical Affairs in the pharmaceutical industry – required
  • Oncology experience – an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience engaging healthcare professionals and scientific experts in a peer‑to‑peer scientific setting
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a complex, matrixed, cross‑functional environment
