Job Description:

We are seeking the best talent for a Senior Manager, Engagement Leader (2 openings available) to be located in a New Jersey J&J location with preference for New Brunswick, NJ or Titusville, NJ.

These roles will advance the engagement strategy for a Technology functional area, integrating enterprise practices and enabling business outcomes through AI-enabled, human-centered approaches.

​Responsibilities / Key Jobs to be Done:

  • Lead strategic executive communications for the functional area’s Technology Leadership Team (TLT) member (e.g. town halls, email messages, select external engagements).
  • Develop storytelling approaches surrounding key TLT-level priorities to share within the functional area as well as across Technology.
  • Communicate business objectives effectively across audiences in the Technology functional area and collaborate on extending messaging to business partners.
  • Assess and selectively support high-value external engagements for Technology functional area leaders in partnership with Global Corporate Affairs.
  • Partner with Technology Communications and other teams to ensure consistent, impactful messaging.
  • Measure impact of communications efforts and report outcomes to leadership.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the Technology functional area’s leadership team and partners to support effective delivery of communications efforts.
  • Manage, coach, and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of inclusion, learning, and adaptability.
  • Foster a resilient team culture by modeling and upholding team norms and commitments.
  • Identify and champion opportunities to leverage AI and automation.
  • Establish and maintain feedback loops with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Change Management to build and support change champion networks within the functional area.

Key Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in communications supporting executive level stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic communications experience, including implementing communications strategies, managing organizational communications, multi-channel storytelling, executive communications, and external communications.
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze and act on metrics.
  • Understanding of technology, eagerness to embrace digital innovation, and ability to grasp complex topics.
  • Familiarity with AI/automation tools for communications and workflow
  • Experience building trusted relationships with senior leaders and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global, matrixed organization.
  • Excellent collaboration, teamwork, and ability to lead and motivate through influence.
  • Growth mindset and adaptability to change.
  • Champion standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Model feedback-seeking and responsiveness.
  • Empower and develop team members to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Experience supporting a Technology or Health Care organization preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AI and automation tools preferred.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$122,000.00 - $212,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
  • Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
  • Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
  • Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period 10 days
  • Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year
  • Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
