Service Now Developer

The Service Now Developer is responsible for designing, configuring, and enhancing Service Now solutions that support Human Resources centric processes and enterprise service delivery. Within the HR Technology team, the Service Now Developer partners closely with the Service Now HR Technology Leader, product owners, and cross‑functional technical teams to deliver scalable, high‑quality solutions aligned with Johnson Controls standards.

This role will primarily focus on hands‑on development, configuration, and enhancement delivery within Service Now, including workflow automation, integrations, and troubleshooting across HR Service Delivery (HRSD) and related modules. This position is a hybrid role based in Pune, India, combining in‑office and remote work, and collaborates closely with global HR technology team.

How you will do it

  • Design, develop, configure, and maintain Service Now applications and workflows
  • Build and enhance HR Service Delivery (HRSD) capabilities, including case management, service offerings, and catalog items
  • Configure business rules, client scripts, UI policies, flows, and integrations
  • Partner with Service Now platform, HR, and Workday teams to design and support integrations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across Service Now modules
  • Participate in requirements analysis and translate functional needs into technical solutions
  • Support enhancement delivery from design through testing and deployment
  • Contribute to platform stability, performance, and scalability through best practices
  • Maintain technical documentation, configuration details, and development standards
  • Participate in unit testing, system testing, and integration testing efforts
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and HR technology partners

What you will need Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ of Service Now development experience including HRSD
  • Strong hands‑on experience configuring and developing within Service Now
  • Experience with scripting (JavaScript), workflows/Flow Designer, and integrations
  • Solid understanding of integrations, APIs, and data flows between systems
  • Strong understanding of HR Process and workflows, including employee lifecycle management, onboarding, offboarding, performance management and employee self-service.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently on complex enhancements with minimal supervision
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with global teams in a hybrid work environment
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model based in Pune, India Preferred
  • Experience with Service Now HRSD, Employee Center, or scoped applications
  • Experience integrating Service Now with Workday or other HR platforms
  • Familiarity with Service Now best practices, upgrade management, and performance optimization
  • Experience mentoring junior developers or reviewing technical work
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
