Senior Service Now Developer – CMDB / CSDM

A senior Service Now developer specializing in CMDB engineering, CSDM implementation, and platform development, responsible for building a CSDM‑aligned, high‑quality CMDB, enforcing governance standards, and driving CI data accuracy. Acts as the technical SME for configuration data, collaborating across ITSM, ITOM, Infra, App, and Platform teams.

Core Competencies

  • Expert in CMDB architecture, CI classes, hierarchies, inheritance, and lifecycle management.
  • Design/extend CI class models and engineer IRE, reconciliation, dedupe, and orphan‑prevention logic.
  • Build normalization, enrichment, transformation, and CMDB governance automation (3Cs).
  • Implement and maintain CMDB Health, compliance rules, audits, correction workflows, and custom CMDB utilities.
  • Hands‑on CSDM v4+ service modeling across Business, Application, and Technical domains, including infra‑to‑service mapping.
  • Advanced scripting for CMDB operations (Script Includes, BRs, Fix Scripts, UI Policies, Client Scripts, Scheduled Jobs, Scripted REST).
  • Manage Transform Maps, Data Sources, scripted import logic.

Integrations & Service Graph

  • Experience with Service Graph Connectors, schema mapping, and multi‑source reconciliation.
  • Build integrations via REST, SOAP, JSON, MID Server, Integration Hub.
  • Implement governance frameworks, playbooks, exception workflows, and CMDB dashboards (PA, UI Builder).

Platform Engineering

  • Develop complex server‑side and client‑side logic; optimize CI ingestion, normalization, reconciliation.
  • Maintain Flow Designer, Integration Hub spokes, scripted transforms.
  • Performance tuning (Glide Record efficiency, indexing, logging, async patterns).
  • Support cloud CMDB ingestion/modeling and produce high‑quality documentation.
  • Mentor developers, conduct code reviews, support agile ceremonies, and align with platform release/governance processes.
  • Use ATF and workflow tools for automated testing.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Partner with ITSM, Infra, App Owners, Network/DB teams, ITOM/Discovery SMEs.
  • Mentor junior developers and support governance/OKR objectives.

Qualifications

  • 6–7+ years Service Now development, including2–4+ years CMDB/CSDM specializationand hands onCMDB/CSDM modules.
  • Should be confident and have hands-on experience on the above core competencies mentioned, Platform Engineering and Integration expertise.
  • Strong in scripting (SI, BR, Fix Scripts), Transform Maps, Integration Hub, IRE/reconciliation, CSDM modeling.
  • Understanding of Discovery patterns, probes, MID architecture; practical CMDB Health/compliance experience.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and cross‑team communication skills.
  • Certifications: CSA (preferred); plus, CAD, CIS‑Discovery/ITOM, CSDM micro‑certs (nice‑to‑have).
  • Knowledge of ITIL v4 and configuration management governance.
