AI Developer Position Overview:

Johnson Controls is seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented, and GenAI‑ready SitecoreAI Developer to join our Global Marketing IT team managing an enterprise level complex Mar Tech Architecture. In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of modern SitecoreAI solutions while adopting a GenAI‑powered software development mindset. You will leverage AI‑assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and GenAI‑driven automation throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You will collaborate with senior developers and cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, intelligent, and high‑quality digital experiences on the Sitecore platform.

Key Responsibilities Sitecore

AI & Composable DX:

• Design, develop, and maintain SitecoreAI–based solutions using a headless and composable architecture.
• Migrating a complex multi-site Sitecore SXA implementation to SitecoreAI along with multiple third-party integrations
• Build high-performance front-end applications using Next.js, React.js, and TypeScript, leveraging SSG, SSR, ISR, and edge rendering patterns.
• Implement and optimize Sitecore Content SDK / GraphQL APIs for scalable content delivery.
• Design and manage multi-site, multi-brand, and multi-lingual enterprise implementations with complex content models and governance.
• Collaborate with UX, content, and marketing teams to translate business requirements into scalable GA-enabled technical solutions.
• Ensure accessibility (WCAG), performance, SEO, and security best practices across all applications.

Cloud, Dev

Ops & Delivery:

• Own deployment and operations of Next.js applications on Vercel, including project configuration, build pipelines, and runtime optimization for enterprise workloads.
• Manage scalable multi‑environment strategies (Development, QA, UAT, Production)
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Optimize caching strategies across the entire delivery stack. Implement performance optimization best practices
• Design and enforce security and access controls, such as Web Application Firewall (WAF) integration, Protection against DDoS and bot traffic, Secure handling of API keys, tokens, and credentials etc
• Integrate monitoring, logging, and observability tools to ensure platform health and reliability
• Collaborate closely with cloud, security, and platform teams within an Azure‑centric ecosystem to ensure

Mar Tech & Personalization Ecosystem

• Integrate and extend Sitecore Personalize, Sitecore CDP (Data Platform), and Sitecore Search to enable real-time targeting, experimentation, and personalization.
• Design event schemas and data flows between XM Cloud, CDP, analytics, and downstream systems.
• Collaborate on Mar Tech architecture involving DAM, CRM, consent management, analytics, and marketing automation platforms.

Gen

AI & Agentic AI Responsibilities:

• Adopt a GenAI-first development mindset, embedding AI throughout Solution design, Coding, Testing, Documentation, Debugging, Production support
• Use tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, and enterprise LLM platforms
• Design and implement Agentic AI workflows, such as Autonomous code review agents, Deployment and monitoring assistants etc.
• Apply prompt engineering best practices for deterministic, secure, and reusable AI workflows.
• Experiment with and integrate Sitecore AI capabilities for content generation, search relevance, recommendations, and insights.
• Contribute to defining AI governance, usage standards, and best practices within enterprise development teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience as a Sitecore (AI) Developer or in a similar role.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Sitecore, including headless-composable architecture along with Vercel deployments.
• Strong expertise in Sitecore XM Cloud (AI), Next.js, React.js, TypeScript, Sitecore Content SDK / GraphQL
• Hands on experience migrating a complex multi-site Sitecore SXA implementation to SitecoreAI along with multiple third-party integrations
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale, multi-site, multi-lingual solutions.
• Strong knowledge of modern front-end tooling, performance optimization, and web standards.
• Hands-on experience with Sitecore Personalize, Sitecore CDP, Sitecore Search
• Experience integrating Coveo or similar enterprise search platforms.
• Practical experience using GenAI tools in production development workflows.
• Working knowledge of Agentic AI concepts and autonomous workflows in software engineering.
• Understanding of ethical AI, security, and enterprise governance for AI-driven systems.
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures (Azure preferred).
