
NPI Coordinator
About the role
Location: Vega – 7610 39 Street, Edmonton, Alberta
Position Summary
The NPI Coordinator is responsible for supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs by ensuring materials availability, coordinating logistics, and maintaining accurate project schedules. This role acts as a critical link between engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and program management to enable successful prototype builds, pilot runs, and product launches. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in coordinating complex cross-functional activities in a fast-paced environment.
Materials Coordination

Ensure timely availability of materials for prototype, pilot, and pre-production builds

Track and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) readiness and changes

Identify long-lead items and expedite critical components

Resolve shortages and supply risks
-
Maintain material readiness visibility
Logistics & Inventory Management

Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics
-
Arrange transportation between suppliers and sites
-
Manage inventory for NPI builds including kitting

Track excess or obsolete materials
-
Ensure proper handling and traceability
Scheduling & Build Coordination

Maintain NPI schedules aligned with milestones

Coordinate prototype and pilot builds

Monitor schedule adherence and risks

Support build readiness meetings
Cross-Functional Communication

Act as coordination point between engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality

Provide updates on material readiness and schedule

Escalate issues impacting timelines
Continuous Improvement

Support improvements in materials, logistics, and scheduling processes

Implement standard work and best practices
-
Participate in lessons learned
Future Responsibility (Role Evolution)
Data Tracking & Reporting will be added in the future to support dashboards, KPI tracking, and ERP data accuracy.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or related field.

2–5+ years experience in NPI, supply chain, or manufacturing.

Basic understanding of BOMs, ERP/MRP systems, and logistics.
