What you will do
Johnson Controls is seeking a proactive and technically astute Sales Representative to drive new business sales across the commercial Ship building sectors. This role is responsible for identifying opportunities, supporting lifecycle solutions, and building strong customer relationships to ensure long-term value and operational continuity for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of engineered systems and the ability to navigate complex customer environments.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute a regional sales capture plan focused on New Build solutions.
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and new customer accounts across China.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with procurement, maintenance, and engineering teams.
· Provide technical support and product knowledge to customers, ensuring the right parts and solutions are delivered.
· Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, logistics, service) to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
· Monitor installed base and service intervals to proactively offer parts and upgrade packages.
· Track market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategy.
· Maintain accurate records of sales activities, forecasts, and customer interactions in CRM systems.
Key Attributes:
· Industry Experience: Proven background in marine, naval, oil & gas, or new energy sectors, with a focus on Automation and Boil of Gas.
· Technical Fluency: Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts related to engineered systems, maintenance cycles, and spare parts.
· Customer-Centric: Skilled in building long-term relationships with procurement, engineering, and maintenance teams.
· Commercial Acumen: Strong sales execution capabilities with a track record of identifying opportunities and delivering tailored solutions.
· Self-Motivated: Comfortable working independently in a field-based role across diverse geographies.
· Organized & Proactive: Effective territory planning, pipeline management, and follow-through on customer needs.
· Adaptable Communicator: Able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders across cultures and technical disciplines.
· Multilingual (Preferred): English is a must
· Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems such as Salesforce and SAP.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience working with naval or defence customers, shipyards, or offshore operators.
· Familiarity with HVAC, Automation, Controls, or mechanical systems.
· Knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce).
· Technical or engineering background (degree or equivalent experience).
· Multilingual capabilities are a plus.
