What this job involves:

JLL’s Project & Development Services (“PDS”) group is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support the project team in the Toronto area.

We will rely upon your experience working with Project Managers to support the team in managing construction projects. Your adaptability and expertise will be key in delivering successful outcomes across diverse project types and different sectors and contributing to JLL's reputation as an industry leader in PDS.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Project Management – support SPMs/PMs projects from concept to handover:

  • Regularly proactively communicating with your SPM/PM.

  • Managing multiple projects across various clients with a focus on Corporate Interior Fitouts, Hotels & Hospitality, Education, Industrial, and Data Center projects.

  • Maintaining and achieving project goals and criteria to satisfy client expectations.

  • Completing projects within scope, schedule, budget, and the client’s changing needs.

  • Coordinating the activities of owners, consultants, contractors, suppliers, AHJs, operators, and stakeholders.

  • Documenting and controlling project scope and changes to the specified level of quality.

  • Maintaining a project control budget and baseline schedule aligned to scope; controlling cost and schedule.

  • Monitoring and updating a Risk Management Plan and mitigating project risks.

  • Attending project meetings and generating meeting minutes.

  • Assisting PM with weekly flash reports and monthly progress reports.

  • Support procuring and monitoring adherence of parties to their contracts.

  • Implementing PM software, leveraging JLL technology solutions whenever possible.

  • Maintaining complete and accurate project documentation, easily retrievable and suitable for audit.

  • Troubleshooting and problem solving to ensure there are “no project surprises

Team Management – support your project team:

  • Adhering to JLL PDS expectations, policies, best practices, procedures, and methodologies.

  • Fostering an ethical environment of accountability, excellence, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation.

Operational Management – ensure projects achieve financial targets and client requirements:

  • Supporting JLL’s project team to exceed our financial performance and client satisfaction targets.

  • Managing invoice distribution and ensuring AR collections within the contracted timelines.

  • Forecasting project resource needs.

  • Ensuring file structures are in place and project documents are properly managed.

  • Fully and accurately informing SPM/PM of project issues that could affect PDS’ project targets and reputation.

Relationships – collaborate and communicate with clients, project stakeholders, and JLL peers:

  • Working with owners, landlords, tenants, developers, institutions, architects, engineers, and contractors.

  • Building rapport with key client project representatives.

  • Cultivating new and existing business relationships.

  • Obtaining client referrals and testimonials

Growth - pursue project opportunities

  • Supporting the SPM/PM to pursue and secure new business

  • Positioning JLL as a leader in project development services.

  • Marketing available JLL products and service offerings.

  • Creating project case studies at or near project completion.

Requires Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience delivering new build and renovation projects.

  • Interpersonal, articulate, responsive, and highly organized.

  • Engineering, Architecture, or similarly applicable degree.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or working towards your designation is an asset.

  • LEED Certification is an asset.

Estimated compensation for this position:

75,000.00 – 90,000.00 CAD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
