The Hague – Handyman Role Summary

The Handyman plays a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating and performing maintenance activities, small repairs, moves and logistics, ensuring supplier and sub-contractor compliance with HSSE and Safe System of Work across the client's portfolio in country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Escort and brief engineers and supplier maintenance staff where required.

• Contributes to improvements for preventive maintenance programmes on an on-going basis.

• Contributes to maintenance of effective Asset specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals and ensures compliance.

• Coordinates maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenants, personnel and engineers.

• Contributes to overseeing of all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues.

• Administers all equipment and construction warranties with respect to defect liability period.

• Responds quickly to emergency situations (i.e. fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.) and customer concerns.

• Assists in maintenance/engineering issues as required.

• Implements and administers inventory control programs/purchase parts and supplies.

• Ensures compliance with applicable codes, regulations, government agency and company directives as relates to building operations.

• Conducts regular inspections of operating mechanical, electrical and equipment systems; recommends and oversees necessary adjustments to operating equipment and controls.

• Contributes to implementing of preventive maintenance programs and recommending improvements to existing programs on an on-going basis.

• Be adaptable and flexible to assist the client when required.

• Collaborate with the wider team to identify opportunities for improving technical service delivery and enhancing the workplace service experience.

• Strive for continuous improvement by implementing service enhancements, reducing utility usage, increasing productivity, and delivering efficiencies.

Electrical Support Duties:

• Escort technicians who Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with relevant electrical codes and safety standards

• Diagnose basic electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques

• Support the perfoming of regular preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components

• Support technicians who Install and configure lighting systems, power distribution panels, and electrical control systems

• Ensure technicians produce accurate records of electrical work performed, materials used, and system modifications

• Collaborate with other technical staff on interdisciplinary projects requiring handyman support and expertise

• Maintain awareness of the latest developments and safety protocols

Skills and Experience:

• Appropriate handyman/small project experience.

• Knowledge of Predictive/Preventive/Protective Maintenance.

• Knowledge of Building Systems as well as effective troubleshooting techniques.

• Ability to orientate, supervise and evaluate the work of assigned contractors.

• A good understanding of all safety and environmental concerns as they relate to the equipment and the overall property portfolio.

• Computer literacy, knowledge of building support systems, and previous experience of work order management systems.

• Knowledge of outlook, teams and teams applications.
