What this job involves - The HSSE APAC Lead provides strategic leadership and oversight for comprehensive health, safety, security, environmental, and sustainability programs across the account’s APAC portfolio. This senior role is responsible for ensuring consistent HSSE excellence across multiple countries, platforms, and service lines while driving continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and achievement of the account’s ambitious sustainability goals throughout the region.
Key Responsibilities Strategic HSSE Leadership

Develop and implement regional HSSE strategy aligned with the account’s global objectives and JLL's "One Team S.A.F.E.R. Together" culture

Lead HSSE excellence across 15+ countries and 200+ facilities in the APAC region
-
Provide executive-level HSSE consultation to senior leadership and teams
-
Drive integration of HSSE requirements into business development, transitions, and strategic initiatives
-
Champion innovation in HSSE program delivery and digital transformation initiatives
-
Establish regional HSSE performance benchmarks and continuous improvement frameworks
-
Ensure seamless HSSE integration between ongoing facility operations and project delivery activities
-
Manage interface risks between operational activities and construction/renovation projects
-
Standardize HSSE approaches across diverse facility types including data centers, corporate offices, and specialized facilities
-
Drive cross-platform sharing of best practices and lessons learned
Regulatory & Compliance Management
-
Ensure comprehensive compliance with diverse regulatory frameworks across APAC jurisdictions
-
Manage relationships with regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and certification organizations
-
Lead regional risk assessment programs and develop standardized mitigation strategies
-
Oversee Safety and Compliance Management Systems and implementation of safety and compliance programs
-
Coordinate regulatory reporting, permits, and certifications across the regional portfolio
-
Drive harmonization of HSSE standards while respecting local regulatory requirements
Performance Management & Analytics
-
Establish and monitor regional HSSE KPIs aligned with corporate objectives
-
Lead monthly performance reviews with country teams and quarterly business reviews with Account leadership
-
Develop comprehensive HSSE dashboards and analytics for data-driven decision making
-
Conduct trend analysis to identify emerging risks and improvement opportunities
-
Benchmark regional performance against global standards and industry best practices
-
Drive HSSE analytics and proactive risk management initiatives
Incident Management & Emergency Response
-
Establish regional incident response protocols and crisis management frameworks
-
Lead investigation of significant incidents with regional or global implications
-
Develop and maintain business continuity plans for HSSE-related disruptions
-
Coordinate emergency response capabilities across diverse geographic and cultural contexts
-
Manage stakeholder communications during major incidents or regulatory matters
-
Drive systematic approach to lessons learned and preventive action implementation
Stakeholder Management & Client Relations
-
Serve as primary HSSE interface with Client’s APAC leadership team and global HSSE organization
-
Lead client engagement on strategic HSSE initiatives and transformation programs
-
Manage relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and service providers
-
Drive client satisfaction through HSSE excellence and innovation
Required Qualifications Education & Professional Credentials
-
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Safety Management, or related field
-
Professional safety certification (NEBOSH, Local Safety Certification, or equivalent)
-
Environmental management certification (ISO 14001 Lead Auditor) preferred
-
First Aid, CPR, and emergency response certifications
Experience Requirements
-
7-10 years progressive HSSE experience with 3+ years in leadership roles
-
Experience in multinational corporate environment with cultural competency
-
Facilities management or corporate real estate background preferred
-
Proven track record managing teams and driving performance improvement
-
Experience with regulatory compliance and stakeholder management
-
Background in both operational safety and project safety management
Technical Expertise
-
Deep knowledge of regional/local/national environmental and safety regulations
-
Proficiency in HSSE management systems and performance monitoring
-
Strong analytical skills for data analysis and trend identification
-
Understanding of contractor management and supply chain safety
-
Competency in regional HSSE technology platforms and reporting systems

Language & Cultural Requirements

Fluent English (written and verbal) required

Additional APAC languages (Mandarin, Japanese, Hindi, Bahasa, etc.) highly preferred

Deep understanding of APAC business cultures and regulatory environments

Experience working across time zones and managing virtual teams
Physical & Travel Requirements
-
Ability to conduct facility assessments including industrial and construction environments
-
Availability for emergency response outside normal business hours
-
Physical capability to wear required PPE and access diverse facility types
