Job Description
About the Department/ Team:
The Internal Sales Department engages with financial professionals to deliver a Total Client Experience in becoming an indispensable partner. To accomplish this, we leverage a differentiated consultative experience with our clients through Business Consulting, Portfolio Consulting, and Client Engagement. We Learn, Grow and Succeed together.
About the Role:
The Internal Market Consultant will be responsible for managing long-standing trusted partnerships with existing intermediary clients, facilitating proactive client engagements and reactive client account/relationship efforts, and developing new relationships with prospective clients that maximize our wallet share and enhance long-term holdings of Invesco products and services. Serving in a critical function on our Internal Sales Desk, this role will be the voice of Invesco to clients, which is an integral part of furthering the client journey and attaining both revenue and profitability goals.
Responsibilities of the Role:
-
Collaborating within a "team of teams" to implement a strategic territory plan that proactively addresses the needs of a diverse client base. Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, increasing wallet share, delivering the Total Client Experience (Total CX) platform, and empowering financial professionals to connect with their clients, enhance their business, and optimize their portfolios.
-
Applying portfolio analytical tools to identify products and services to clients which optimize portfolios.
-
Leading consultative calls, webinars, and meetings with financial advisors and other licensed professionals to promote and position our products, communicate firm updates, build relationships, and provide ongoing client support.
-
Conducting daily activities and territory analysis using a firm ranking system and service model stratification to address the unique complexities and needs of each territory.
-
Creating personalized, targeted digital communications—including thought leadership, practice management, and capital market insights—to engage financial advisors and support business objectives.
-
Facilitating and coordinating the involvement of specialist teams in client engagements across our segmented client base, ensuring timely and relevant participation.
-
Leveraging data to identify and prioritize prospective clients, enabling targeted and proactive outreach.
-
Actively and accurately documenting all client interactions into the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure the integrity of our data, as well as deepen expertise within the system.
-
Engaging in a comprehensive training curriculum that improves competencies in business administration, consultancy and development, leadership and influence, investment discipline communication, technical comprehension, and product and industry knowledge.
-
Traveling as needed within territory to conduct meetings with clients, assist with client events, and attend industry conferences.
Requirements of the Role:
-
2-5 years of consultative selling experience in financial services preferred
-
College degree or equivalent experience required (MBA, CFA, CFP, and CIMA a plus)
-
FINRA Series 7 and 63/65 or 66 required for role (must acquire required licenses within firm-defined time period)
-
A current understanding (or strong desire to learn) of capital markets, mutual funds, ETFs, other investment solutions, and impact of economic factors
-
Strong work ethic, high integrity, and strong values
-
Motivated to achieve success and grow with the firm
-
Consultative, client-first approach, delivering solutions, not products, to meet needs and get results
-
Excellent listening skills with a natural inclination to focus on client needs coupled with strong presentation and interpersonal skills
-
A growth mindset with a business-owner mentality, which is naturally drawn to opportunities, innovation, new value creation, and looks to continuously improve own capabilities
