This role involves leading a dynamic team dedicated to supporting the U.S. GAAP accounting processes for Intuit entities across the globe. Reporting to the SSC Group Manager, this role will look to leverage strong technical accounting and managerial skills to effectively collaborate with Regional Controllers, Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and other stakeholders worldwide. The role will require strong change management skills and the ability to resolve issues effectively, with a continued focus on enhancing process efficiency and service delivery through automation and standardization
Responsibilities
- Effectively manage the month-end close process for timely and accurate US GAAP reporting by partnering with Regional Controllers and the Corporate Accounting team
- Build and manage a high-performing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and oversight to ensure delivery of results and career growth. Foster a team environment based on trust, accountability, and excellence
- Manage & guide team in undertaking new process transitions for SSC
- Define and agree on SLAs with stakeholders, including KPIs, and manage performance to meet these standards
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring processes and procedures are current and enhanced regularly. Lead transformation initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service delivery
- Maintain strong controls to ensure compliance with company policies, internal control policies, SOX requirements, and collaborate closely with the CAO organization to ensure effective policy and procedure adherence
- Exercise good judgment in managing accounting and operational risks with appropriate transparency
- Stay current on evolving accounting standards and incorporate necessary updates into company policy
- Anticipate risks and changes in systems, processes, and accounting regulations, assessing their impact on operations
- Collaborate efficiently with cross-functional teams to optimize the month-end close process for seamless efficiency
- Identify, evaluate, and implement industry best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of SSC, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with leading standards
- Support with audit requirements promptly to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
Qualifications
- CA/CPA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 8-10 years of accounting experience in large MNCs, preferably in the Software/SaaS industry and Shared Services setup
- Strong people management skills with the ability to lead high-performing teams, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in handling large accounting software packages, preferably Oracle.
- Ability to research and understand technical details and present them in lay terms to non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and project management skills with the capability to manage and execute multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clear, concise information to leadership and communicate effectively even in an unstructured environment
- Ability to work effectively across time zones and geographies with key stakeholders
- Proficiency in challenging the status quo, driving transformative change and championing innovation in the evolving shared services landscape. Demonstrated leadership in leading automation, transformation, simplification, and standardization efforts to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Ability to influence cross-functionally and at all management levels, enabling effective and quick decision-making that considers the interests of all key stakeholders
