As part of the Mid-Market Agents Engineering Team, you will lead the development of intelligent agents that deliver a “done-for-you” experience—helping mid-market businesses improve profitability, boost productivity, and reduce setup friction through streamlined enablement and personalized experiences. You will join an innovative and passionate team of engineers leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as React, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, AWS, ElasticSearch, and Kafka to build globally distributed services. We are looking for an engineer with a strong background in back-end web technologies (Java, Spring, RESTful services, etc.) who is eager to work on features and services that enhance our product suite and delight our Small and Mid-Market Business

Responsibilities

1.  Architecting and developing web, software, prototypes, or proofs of concepts (POC's)

2. Leading the gathering of functional requirements, developing technical specifications, and project & test planning

3. Acting as the technical subject matter expert: Mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems

4. Roughly 30-70% hands-on coding

5. Generate technical documentation and presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users

6. Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including: product management, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results

7. Demonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant, web and/or mobile apps

8. Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies

Qualifications

1. 8+ years experience designing and developing web, software, or mobile applications.

2. Strong leadership experience: Leading meetings, presenting, technical go to person, and cross-functional leader.

3. BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.

4. Proficiency in Server Side technologies -- Java/J2EE/Spring Boot/Database

5. Expertise in Kafka, Kubernetes, Caching

6. Expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and ability to operate in DevOps model.

7. Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

8. 3+ years experience with web services (consuming or creating) with REST.

9. Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

10. Expertise in the Software design/architecture process.

11. Expertise with unit testing & Test Driven Development (TDD).

12. Business Acumen - strategic thinking & strategy development.

13. Building strong teams - set and evangelize vision, facilitative leadership, attract and retain key talent.

14. Experience in Capability based planning to execution.

15. Excellent communication skills with experience in C level stakeholder management. The position requires working closely with other architects, business teams, and product teams.

17.  Good to have Machine learning skills as well
