Join our dynamic team at Intel as an Exempt Tech Contract Employee, where technical innovation meets impactful solutions. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of high-speed platforms, boards, and packages at Intel. Your expertise will drive the development of innovative signal integrity solutions essential for next-generation interconnects and high-speed interfaces. By defining signal integrity rules, conducting simulations, and guiding implementation, you will directly contribute to the optimization of design margins and ensure robust electrical performance. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will influence industry standards while addressing complex challenges that elevate Intel's product quality, innovation, and reliability. The primary responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop signal integrity solutions for high-speed platforms, boards, and packages, including 2D and 3D model extracts of electrical structures.
  • Define and implement signal integrity rules while documenting characterization and measurement reports.
  • Perform simulations to guide physical implementation of interconnects, optimizing design margins and addressing electrical performance challenges.
  • Design and characterize test structures, correlate simulations with measurements using high-speed equipment, and debug interconnect challenges.
  • Create electrical specifications and collaborate with industry consortiums to develop next-generation interconnect standards.
  • Develop and document guidelines for implementation in platform design guides to ensure seamless integration for end customers.
  • Collaborate with IP design and silicon integration teams to maximize platform-level solutions and minimize degradation (e.g., crosstalk, jitter, power noise).
  • Apply detailed knowledge of signal integrity design and tradeoffs to enable innovative and cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience with a bachelor's degree, 2+ years with a master's degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in DDR memory interface design fundamentals, signal and power integrity analysis, and package design and development.
  • Intermediate knowledge in 3D EM Solver tools and 3D modeling software.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical fundamentals and I/O principles.
  • Ability to execute disciplined processes and deliver technical documentation.
  • Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency (both verbal and written).
  • Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Costa Rica.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex signal integrity challenges.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Experience contributing to industry standards or consortiums.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
