
Workshop Pump Technician
About the role
Key Responsibilities
1.
Maintenance & Repair:
-
Disassemble, inspect, and repair different types of pumps (centrifugal, submersible, diaphragm, gear, etc.)
-
Replace worn or damaged components such as bearings, seals, shafts, and impellers
-
Perform pump assembly, alignment, and reinstallation
-
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance activities
2. Troubleshooting
-
Diagnose mechanical faults and performance issues
-
Identify root causes of pump failures and recommend corrective actions
-
Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functionality
3.
Inspection & Testing:
-
Perform pressure testing, vibration checks, and performance testing
-
Ensure all repaired pumps meet operational and safety standards
-
Maintain records of inspections and work completed
4. Workshop Operations
-
Use workshop tools, measuring instruments, and equipment safely
-
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
-
Ensure proper handling and storage of parts and materials
5. Documentation
-
Complete job reports, service logs, and maintenance records
-
Record spare parts usage and report inventory needs
-
Follow work instructions, SOPs, and technical manuals
6.
Safety & Compliance:
-
Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
-
Use proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times
-
Ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards
--- ## Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience
-
2–5 years of experience in pump maintenance or rotating equipment repair

Experience working in industrial workshop environments preferred
