Job Title: Aftermarket Sales Executive /Account Manager

Job Summary

The Aftermarket Sales manager is responsible for driving sales of compressor spare parts, service contracts, AMCs, overhauling solutions, and other aftermarket offerings. The role involves managing existing customer relationships, identifying new service opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle. A background in Mechanical Engineering helps in understanding technical requirements, troubleshooting, and recommending appropriate solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development:

  • Develop and execute aftermarket sales strategies for compressors (rotary screw, , centrifugal, etc.).

  • Promote and sell spare parts, consumables, service kits, lubricants, and upgraded components.

  • Generate sales leads, prepare quotations, and negotiate pricing to close orders.

  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for aftermarket booking & revenue.

  • Identify opportunities for retrofit, refurbishment, and compressor system upgrades.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure repeat business.

  • Conduct regular customer visits to understand needs and offer suitable solutions.

  • Respond to customer queries related to maintenance, troubleshooting, or part requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance to customers regarding proper compressor operation and maintenance practices.

Technical & Service Support

  • Work closely with service engineers to coordinate service jobs, AMC execution, and breakdown support.

  • Analyze compressor performance data to recommend preventive maintenance or upgrades.

  • Communicate technical specifications, drawings, and service requirements to clients.

  • Support root cause analysis for failures and recommend corrective actions.

Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Track competitor pricing, service offerings, and market trends.

  • Provide inputs to product and service teams to improve aftermarket offerings.

  • Identify growing segments, industries, and geographies for compressor aftermarket potential.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Update SFA and utilize data to prepare and submit weekly/monthly sales reports, visit reports, and forecasts.

  • Maintain accurate records of quotations, order status, and customer interactions.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational processes and CRM systems.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of experience in aftermarket sales, service sales, or technical sales in compressors, industrial equipment, or rotating machinery (preferred).

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of air compressors (rotary screw/reciprocating/centrifugal).

  • Ability to read engineering drawings, understand parts lists, and interpret technical documents.

  • Knowledge of maintenance practices, breakdown diagnostics, and compressor system components.

Soft Skills & other requirements:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Customer-centric, proactive, and target-oriented approach.

  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

  • Good presentation and reporting skills.

  • Willingness to travel for customer visits.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Aftermarket revenue achievement

  • Customer retention & repeat orders

  • Conversion rate of inquiries to orders

  • Growth in AMC/Service contract business

  • Timely quotation submission and follow-ups
